About global homestead

The mission of Global Homestead Inc. is to strengthen communities and their members through the arts, the natural environment, and innovative education.

Global Homestead is an organization that focuses on the twin themes of continuity and change as companion approaches to contemporary challenges. The Global Homestead embraces a variety of projects concerning environmental stewardship, economic empowerment, community self-sufficiency, sustainable agriculture, holistic health practices, historical interpretation, and the arts as a stimulus for community dialogue.

In each project, efforts are focused on understanding the human and natural historical and cultural contexts for contemporary dilemmas/issues ranging from forest management practices to micro-enterprise start-up. The application of appropriate new or traditional knowledge and technology in concert with the goals and values of individuals whose lives are affected by the initiative offers dynamic and effective dimensions to the work.
